Examples for
Number Type Arithmetic
It is sometimes useful to do arithmetic on values that are only partially specified in order to determine as much information as possible about the result. Given an expression involving general types of numbers, such as "even integer + odd integer," Wolfram|Alpha is capable of determining the most specific number type that encompasses all possible results: in this case, "odd integer." Supported number categories include positives, negatives, integers, rationals, irrationals, reals and complexes. Supported arithmetic operators include addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and exponentiation.
